Nacho Navarro is Associate Professor at UPC - Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain, since 1994, and Senior Researcher at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), serving as manager of the Accelerators for High Performance Computing group.

Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya in 1991, since 1983 he is working at the Computer Architecture Department (Departament d'Arquitectura de Computadors). and teaches at FIB - Barcelona School of Informatics.

Nacho organizes the Programming and Tuning Massively Parallel Systems summer school (PUMPS) every July since 2010, and he is currently the managing director of the BSC/UPC NVIDIA GPU Center of Excellence.

His current interests include: GPGPU computing, multi-core computer architectures, hardware accelerators, dynamic reconfigurable logic support, memory management and runtime optimizations, operating systems for multi-cores, power management and resource management in heterogeneous environments, and also tracing and visualization tools. He is also doing research on massively parallel accelerators like GPUs at the University of Illinois (IMPACT Research Group).

Prof. Navarro is a member of IEEE, the IEEE Computer Society, the ACM and the HiPEAC NOE.
